Log-a-Call & Log Codes
Record calls that happened off-platform, tag them with reason and disposition codes, and copy the right people automatically.

1What Log-a-Call is
Log-a-Call is how a call that happened outside ClientTether’s dialer — on a desk phone, a mobile, in person — gets into the contact’s history. It lives in the Whiteboard area of the Contact Profile (and in the Unified Message Center): write the note, pick a Reason Code and a Disposition Code, choose who to tell, and save.
The codes are what turn a pile of notes into something you can report on: the Dashboard’s Reason Code / Disposition Code chart counts them.
2Reason codes and disposition codes
- A Reason Code says why the call happened — “Reschedule”, “Complaint”, “New Service Request”.
- A Disposition Code says what came of it — “Rescheduled”, “Cancelled Service”, “Forwarded to Sales”.
Define them in Settings → Log Codes: choose the Contact Type, the Code Type (Reason or Disposition), the code itself and a description, then Save Code. Codes are per contact type, so a Client call and an Employee call can offer different lists. The existing codes are listed below the form with edit and delete controls.
3Who gets told
Each logged call can be sent onward. The Send row on the Log-a-Call form offers Email and Text; with Email ticked you can add any addresses, and in an account with sub-accounts or assigned users you can pick them too. The Default switches on the Log Codes settings tab decide whether Email and/or Text start ticked for everyone, so the account owner is copied on every logged call without anyone remembering to do it.
4Note templates
If your team logs the same kind of call repeatedly, build a Notes/Logs template (Templates → Notes/Logs) with the structure you want — headings, questions to answer, formatting — and pick it from the Log-a-Call and Add Note forms. See Templates.
5Troubleshooting
The code dropdowns are empty
No codes are defined for that contact type. Add them in Settings → Log Codes.
The account owner isn’t receiving logged calls
Tick Email and/or Text under Default on the Log Codes tab, and check the owner’s email and phone on their user record.
