Tasks
To-dos attached to contacts — created by hand, from a template, or automatically by an action plan — and the board and side panel for working through them.

1What Tasks are
A task is a to-do attached to a contact: a title, details, a due date, an assignee, a priority and a status. Tasks are an add-on — once Task Management is switched on in Settings → Add-Ons, a Tasks entry appears in the main navigation, a task icon appears in the top bar, a Task tab appears on every Contact Profile, and action plans gain a Task step.
2Creating a task
There are three ways to create one:
- From a contact — open the profile’s Task tab and click Add a task. Fill in Title, Details, Due Date, Assignee, Priority and Status, or pick a Template to prefill everything.
- From the Tasks board — the same form, with a search box to choose the contact first.
- From an action plan — a Task step creates the task automatically, on schedule, when the plan reaches it. Build the step once and every contact on the plan gets the task. See Action Plans.
Task templates live under Templates → Task and hold the title, details and defaults for tasks you create often (see Templates). Priority is a number from 1 to 10. Status is chosen from the account’s status list; a task with no status shows as Pending.
3The Tasks board
The Tasks page lists every task in the account in a table — Contact Name, Title, Assignee, Due Date, Priority, Status — with the same tools as the Contacts List:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Active / In-Active switch | Show open tasks, or the ones already closed out. |
| Search | Matches contact, priority, title or status. |
| Advanced Filter | Narrow by Contact Type, Created By, Assigned To and Status, and save the combination as a named filter for next time. |
| Page Settings | Choose which columns show. |
| Change | Tick several tasks and update their Status, Assignee, Due Date (up to 45 days out) or Priority in one go, with a note explaining the change. |
| Edit / Delete on each row | Open the task form, or remove the task. Clicking the status cell lets you change it in place. |
Click a contact’s name to open their profile; the row’s Open Contact Profile control does the same.
4The right-side task panel
The task icon in the top bar opens a slide-in panel listing your tasks, filterable by status, so you can work through them without leaving the page you’re on. Settings → Task Setting controls what each entry in the panel shows: switch on or off Contact, Account, Details, Due Date, Assignee, Priority and Status. The title is always shown.
Keep the panel lean
Title, Contact and Due Date is usually enough in the side panel; everything else is one click away on the board. Fewer fields means more tasks visible at once.
5Troubleshooting
There’s no Tasks menu or task icon
The Task Management add-on isn’t enabled. An Admin can switch it on in Settings → Add-Ons.
A task from an action plan didn’t appear
Check the plan step’s timing and that the contact is actually on the plan. Task steps follow the same delay rules as every other step — see Action Plans.
I can’t set a due date further out
Bulk Change limits the due date to 45 days ahead. Edit the task individually for anything later.
