Jobs Board

Every signed proposal as a job: the money, the work orders, the signatures and the status flags, on one operations board.

1What the Jobs board is

Once a proposal is signed, the work becomes a job — something to schedule, staff, deliver and get paid for. The Jobs page is the board for that stage: one row per proposal, with its money, its work orders and its signatures, so the person running operations can see everything in flight without opening each contact.

Jobs appears in the main navigation for accounts using the Proposal System (the current version or the Painter1 version). See Proposal System.

2Reading the board

Each row shows the contact, address and quote name, and then the numbers: Deal Size, Deposit, Material total, Labor total, Tax, Gross Profit, Gross Margin, Payments received and Balance Due. Use Page Settings (gear icon) to choose which columns are visible, and click any column header to sort.

Two colour rules help you spot problems:

  • Balance Due in red — the job is marked completed but money is still owed.
  • Gross Margin in colour — margins above the upper limit or below the lower limit set in Settings → Jobs are highlighted in the colours you chose there.

Signature icons on the row tell you whether the quote is Signed or Un-Signed, and whether All Work Orders are signed or not.

3Filters

FilterWhat it shows
Quoted / Closed / CompletedTick any combination of these stages.
UnScheduledJobs with no work order scheduled yet.
UnPaidJobs with a balance due greater than $0.
Sales Cycle: Active / In-ActiveLimit to contacts in an active sales-cycle step, or include everything.
SearchBy contact, quote or subcontractor.
Advanced FilterMore conditions, and saved filters.

The circular-arrow icon clears all filters, sorts and search. Lists longer than a page are paginated at the top left.

4Work orders on the board

Expand a row with the + control to see its work orders: each one with its subcontractor, bid type, schedule and status. Status is shown as a coloured flag — Pending (yellow), Started (blue), Completed (green), Need More Time (orange), Decline (red), Cancelled — and can be changed from the dropdown on the row. From here you can also open the proposal, open the Field Manager view, view the work order itself, or send an On My Way message.

Subcontractors see and update their own work orders from their own login; see Work Orders for Subcontractors.

5Troubleshooting

A job I expect isn’t listed

Check the stage checkboxes (Quoted / Closed / Completed) and the Sales Cycle switch — a contact in an inactive step is hidden while the switch is on Active.

Gross Margin isn’t coloured

Set the upper and lower limits (and their colours) in Settings → Jobs.

I don’t have a Jobs menu

The account isn’t on the Proposal System. See Proposal System.
