Whiteboard & Notes
The three writing tools on every contact profile: standing context, timeline notes, and logged calls.

1Three tools in one tab
The Whiteboard tab is the first thing you see when a contact profile opens, and it holds three separate tools behind radio buttons: the whiteboard itself, Add Note and Log-a-Call. Together they’re how your team writes things down about a contact.
2The whiteboard
A free-form panel that stays visible at the top of the profile: the things anyone picking up this contact needs to know at a glance — the gate code, which dog bites, what they nearly bought last spring. Click into it, type, and save. It’s one shared panel per contact, not a log: editing replaces what was there.
Whiteboard vs. notes
Use the whiteboard for standing context that should always be on screen. Use notes for things that happened, which belong in the timeline with a date on them.
3Add Note
Switch the radio button to Add Note, type, and save. The note lands in History Notes tagged with your name, the date and the time. A Notes/Logs template can be applied first if your team has a standard structure for a kind of note — see Templates.
4Log-a-Call
The third radio button records a call that happened outside ClientTether: the note, a Reason Code, a Disposition Code, and who should be told by email or text. It’s covered in full on Log-a-Call & Log Codes.
5When two people open the same contact
If another user already has this profile open, the profile header changes colour as a warning, and so do notifications tied to it. It’s there to stop two people phoning the same contact a minute apart — check before you dial.
6Troubleshooting
My whiteboard text disappeared
The whiteboard is a single shared panel. If someone else edited and saved it, their version replaced yours. Put anything that must be kept into a note instead.
My note isn’t in the History tab
Check the type filter on the History tab — it’s remembered per user across contacts.
