Account files versus contact files, what each can be used for, and the size and type limits for email and text.

1Two places files can live

Maximum size is 20 MB per file in either place.
2Using an attachment in a message
Both the email and text panels on a profile let you attach from either store. The rule to remember: templates, action plans and group sends can only use account files — they run for many contacts, so a file that belongs to one contact isn’t available to them.
3Size and type limits
- Text messages: jpeg, png and gif only, and everything attached must total under 5 MB.
- Emails: the limits are the receiving provider’s, not ClientTether’s. Executables and archives are commonly blocked; Gmail publishes its list.
- Anything bigger or riskier: put it in Files and send the public URL instead. Links don’t bounce and don’t trip spam filters.
4Managing contact attachments
On the profile, the Attachments panel lets you add files and, on each one, download or delete it. Files stay with the contact and appear for anyone who opens the profile.
5Troubleshooting
The file isn’t in the list when sending from a template
It’s a contact attachment. Templates can only reach account files — upload it in Settings → Files.
The picture message failed
Wrong type or too big — jpeg/png/gif, under 5 MB total.
