CT Sign

Build a document with signing tokens, send it as a link, and get it back signed — one signature line per document.

1What CT Sign is

CT Sign is ClientTether’s electronic signature: a document you build once and send to contacts to sign online. Agreements, waivers, terms — anything that needs a name at the bottom. Signed documents come back against the contact.

A CT Sign document is a type of hosted page, so it lives in Settings alongside your lead forms and schedulers.

2Building a document

  • Go to Settings → Hosted Pages and click Add New.
  • Give it a name and a page slug — no spaces in the slug.
  • Choose CT-Sign as the type (accounts with the newer editor also have CT-Sign Block Editor, which builds the document from blocks).
  • Write the document in the editor, using tokens so each contact’s own details are filled in when they open it.
  • Save. The signature line for the contact is added automatically at the bottom.

Write it in the editor, not in Word

Pasting a formatted document in from a word processor drags hidden markup with it and breaks the layout. Build the document in the editor itself.

3The four signing tokens

Besides the usual contact tokens, CT Sign has four that only work here:

TokenWhat it puts in the document
InitialsA place for the contact to initial — clause by clause, if you need it.
CheckboxesA box the contact ticks.
Today’s DateThe date the document is signed.
Text FieldA blank for the contact to fill in.

There is one signature line per document. If your own signature should appear, insert it as an image.

4Sending it

Send the document the way you’d send any hosted page: put its hosted-page token in an email or text template, or use it as a step in an action plan, so every contact gets a link tied to their own record. See Tokens and Templates.

5Sharing with sub-accounts

An Enterprise account can share a CT Sign page down to its sub-accounts. The shared page stays owned and maintained by the account that created it — a sub-account that wants its own wording must clone the page first; the clone is theirs to edit.

6Troubleshooting

The document needs two signatures

Only one signature line per document is supported. Send a second document, or insert your own signature as an image.

A sub-account can’t edit the shared document

By design. Clone it into their account first.
