Contact Reminders
Day-level nudges to reconnect — set by hand or by an action plan — and the coloured dots they drive on your lists.

1What a contact reminder is
A contact reminder says “get in touch with this person on this day”. It isn’t an appointment — there’s no time, no invitees, nothing on anyone’s calendar. It exists to put the contact in front of you on the right day, and it’s the mechanism behind the coloured dots on your contact lists.
2Setting one by hand
- Open the contact’s profile and go to the Event tab.
- Choose Contact Reminder as the event type.
- Pick the date — a day only, no time.
- Add notes saying why you’re reconnecting, then save. The reminder appears in Upcoming Actions.
3Setting them automatically
Any action plan can create reminders: add a step, choose Contact Reminder as the action type, and set it immediate or delayed by days, weeks, months or years. That’s how “check in a year after the job” gets built once and runs for everyone. See Action Plans.
4The coloured dots
On the Contacts List, each row carries a marker driven largely by reminders:
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | A reminder is due today. |
| Yellow | A contact point is overdue or was missed — you passed the date without acting, moving it or deleting it. |
| Red | The contact is still a New Lead, not yet in a sales-cycle step. |
Click a dot in the column header to sort that state to the top — the fastest way to build today’s call list.
Clear yellow every morning
A yellow dot is a promise you made to yourself and didn’t keep. Either act on the contact, push the reminder to a realistic date, or delete it — a list full of yellow stops meaning anything.
5Troubleshooting
I can’t set a time on the reminder
By design — reminders are day-level. Use Next Appointment if you need a time.
The dot is still yellow after I called
The reminder itself is still sitting in the past. Move its date or remove it.
