1Placing a call

Calls made through ClientTether can be recorded, are written into the contact’s history, and can be automated. There are four ways to start one:

  • Click to call from the contact list — the phone icon on the row.
  • Click to call from inside the profile — the icon beside the number.
  • Schedule a call from the profile’s Event tab.
  • Let an action plan call — a call step places it automatically.

Outbound calls use the number on your account, shown in Settings under Telephony.

2Recording and history

Where call recording is enabled, the recording is attached to the history entry with the time, the direction and who placed it. Accounts with transcription can generate a transcript, and a sentiment reading, from the history entry.

3Incoming calls

What happens when someone calls your ClientTether number is configured in Operation Settings: the customer-facing say commands, the phone menu, after-hours handling, and the wrap-up time between calls. Numbers can also be blocked from calling or texting you.

4If your number gets labelled “spam”

Carriers score business numbers, and a number can be flagged as Spam Likely — usually after a burst of unanswered outbound calls. Symptoms: calls fail, or customers say your name shows as spam.

  • Register your caller-ID name (CNAM) on the Telephony tab, so your business name shows instead of a bare number.
  • Ask each carrier to remove the label. T-Mobile and AT&T both take reports directly; Verizon, Sprint and U.S. Cellular are reachable through reportarobocall.com; for Comcast, Charter, Cox, Altice and other fixed-line providers, Nomorobo handles reports at reports@nomorobo.com.
  • Check a number’s status with a lookup service before assuming the problem is yours.
  • As a last resort your CSM can issue a new number — but nothing stops a new number being flagged the same way if the calling pattern doesn’t change.

Prevention beats appeals

Labels come from behaviour: high volume, short calls, low answer rates. Call people who expect to hear from you, keep volume steady, and register your CNAM before problems start.

5Checking a number before you dial

ClientTether can verify whether a number is a mobile that accepts texts or a landline, so a text campaign doesn’t burn messages on numbers that can’t receive them. Numbers that turn out to be wrong can be marked with Mark as Wrong Number on the profile.

6Troubleshooting

I can’t make or receive calls at all

Check the Telephony tab has a number attached to the account, and that your browser is allowed to use the microphone.

Calls go to voicemail outside hours

That’s the after-hours setup in Operation Settings.
