Quote Design & Layout
Header image, fonts, section colours and which pages a long quote contains — with a live preview.
On this page
1Making the quote look like your company
The long quote is a document a customer will judge you by. Two sets of controls shape it: the visual CSS control (how it looks) and the Long Quote default settings (which pages it contains). Both live in Settings → Proposal → Tax/Display.
2Design: the visual CSS control
Click Edit Visual CSS Control and you can:
- Upload an image for the proposal header.
- Choose the font from the dropdown.
- Style the quote one section at a time — colours and font weight per section.
- Watch a live preview on the right as you change things.
- Save & Publish when you’re happy; the settings apply to the whole long quote.
3Layout: which pages appear
Below the design controls, Long Quote Default Settings decide which pages a new proposal includes — cover page, about me, the quote itself, terms and conditions, and the rest. These are the pages edited in the Cover Page, About Me, Terms & conditions and PDF Details sub-tabs.
Defaults apply to new proposals only
Changing the default page display doesn’t rewrite proposals that already exist. Quotes in flight keep the layout they were created with — which is usually what you want, but it does mean you can’t fix a typo across open quotes from here.
4Printing to PDF
A finished proposal can be produced as a PDF for printing or emailing outside ClientTether — the same document the customer sees online, with the design and page selection you set here.
5Troubleshooting
My changes aren’t showing on a quote
Either you didn’t Save & Publish, or the quote predates the change — defaults only affect new proposals.
The header image is stretched
Upload it at the aspect ratio the preview shows; the control doesn’t crop for you.
