Enterprise Settings
The locks, permissions and royalty rates a franchisor sets once for every location beneath them.

1What Enterprise Settings are for
A franchisor’s problem is consistency: every location should sell the same way, report the same way and look the same to a customer, while still running its own business day to day. Settings → Enterprise is where that line is drawn. It’s available to the Enterprise account owner and their Admins, and what it sets applies to every sub-account beneath.
2Feature locks
Each lock takes a piece of configuration out of the sub-account’s hands. The sub-account can still use it — they just can’t change it:
| Locked | What the sub-account can no longer do |
|---|---|
| Action Plans and their steps | Edit the cadence or content of plans pushed down to them. |
| Triggers | Change the rules that start plans. |
| Sales Cycle | Add or rename steps — which is what makes network-wide reporting line up. |
| Lead Sources | Add their own sources. |
| Tags | Add, rename or delete tags. |
| Custom Fields | Change the field structure. |
| Log Codes | Change reason and disposition codes. |
| Proposal setup | Alter bid types, line items and templates. |
| Branding | Change the look of the account. |
| Contact deletion | Delete protected records. |
Locking lead sources has a cost
It guarantees clean network reporting, but a location that wants to try a local campaign can no longer add a source for it — they have to ask you. Decide deliberately which matters more; it’s the lock franchisees complain about most.
3User and export permissions
The same tab carries Enterprise Account User Permissions and Contact Export Permissions, set per user type — Admin, Standard, Salesperson. Export is the one to think hardest about: an export is a copy of your customer list leaving the system.
4Royalties and marketing fees
If you track royalties in ClientTether, rates and marketing fees are maintained here, by year, and feed the Royalty Report on the Dashboard. Locking a month’s report is what makes it final — do it after locations have finished entering closed jobs and collections.
5A note on locking the sales cycle
Locking the sales cycle locks the steps. It doesn’t stop a location moving contacts between them — that’s daily work. What it stops is a location inventing a step that nobody else has, which is what breaks a roll-up report.
6Troubleshooting
A sub-account says a setting is greyed out
That’s a lock. Change it centrally, and the change reaches every location.
I locked something and a location’s automation stopped
Check they had their own version of it before the lock — a locked structure replaces local configuration.
