Settings Overview
A map of every tab on the Settings page — what each one controls, and why you might not see some of them.
On this page
1How the Settings page works
Open Settings from the user menu in the top-right corner. The page is a single screen with a vertical list of tabs down the left; click a tab and its options load on the right. Changes are saved per tab with that tab’s own Save or Update button.
Two things decide which tabs you see:
- Your user level. Standard and Salesperson users get a shorter list than Admin users and account owners; a few tabs exist only for Enterprise accounts.
- What the account has switched on. Every integration and most add-ons bring their own tab, which only appears once that add-on is enabled. An Enterprise account can also hide tabs from its sub-accounts.
The tables below list the tabs in the order they appear, grouped by what they do. “Admin+” means Admin users and account owners.
2Account and users
| Tab | What it controls | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Account Info | Company name and address, account owner, country, default date and time formats, the default page and default contact tab after login, header and footer colours, and your password. | Everyone |
| Account | Account-level information and display options, including the feature clone overview used when setting up sub-accounts. | Admin+ (where enabled) |
| Users | The user list: add, edit and remove logins, set each user’s type, and find each user’s ID for API v2. | Admin+ |
| Enterprise | Enterprise-only controls: sub-account settings, user permissions, contact export permissions, and the feature locks pushed down to sub-accounts. See Account Types in ClientTether. | Enterprise account owners |
| Add-Ons | Optional modules and their pricing — the place to switch on features like the Add by Phone button, Lead Routing, Notification Roll-up, Reputation Management, Proposal System 2, the Call Center suite and payment collection. | Admin+ |
| Billing Info | Billing contact, company name and the card on file. | Admin+ (accounts billed directly) |
| Announcements | Create in-app announcements for your users, with active dates and a record of who clicked Got It. | Where enabled |
| Audit Logs | A log of settings changes: page, method, who changed it, when, and the payload sent. | Admin+ |
| Files | Account file storage: create folders, upload files and replace existing ones. | Admin+ |
| Operation | Your timezone, days and hours of operation, the zip code you mostly work from, and wrap-up time between calls. | Everyone |
3Contacts and sales process
| Tab | What it controls | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact Types | Rename the contact types (Clients, Employees, Partners, Vendors, Other) to match your business; shows when a type is locked by the Enterprise. | Admin+ |
| Contact Profile | How the Contact Profile behaves: default event type and appointment duration, who calendar events are assigned to, whether notes go to assignees and invitees, the child-opportunity label, close-date handling, default filters and milestone locks. | Admin+ |
| Custom Fields | Define extra fields per contact type, plus common custom fields shared by all types. They appear on profiles, in list columns, filters and exports. | Everyone |
| Sales Cycle | The steps a contact moves through, per contact type, with paths and sort order. See Pipeline. | Where enabled |
| Opportunity | Opportunity defaults: names, deal size, odds and appointment-set values. | Admin+ |
| Pipeline | Design the pipeline card — which fields show on each card, with a live preview — and whether a small profile opens on drag and drop. | Everyone |
| Lead Sources | The list of sources, their web keys and yearly costs. See Lead Sources. | Everyone, unless locked by the Enterprise |
| Lead Routing | Round-robin assignment of new leads across selected users. | Add-on; Admin+ |
| Tags | Create, edit, duplicate and delete tags, and see how many contacts carry each one. | Admin+ |
| Postal Codes | The account’s postal code list, with a count of contacts in each. | Everyone |
| Log Codes | The reason and disposition codes offered when logging a call, per contact type, with a default. | Where enabled |
| Charts | Defaults for the Dashboard: the default date range and the default view for the progression and salesperson charts. | Everyone |
4Automation and communication
| Tab | What it controls | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| ActionPlans | Account-wide behaviour for plan communication: whether plan emails go out from the system or the account owner, from the assigned user, and who is BCC’d; how returned texts are routed (divert to the assigned user, end the Connection Plan on a reply, business-hours-only sending); and how action calls ring users (simultaneous or ordered, ring time before rolling). Plans themselves are built under Action Plans. | Everyone |
| Triggers | The rules that start plans automatically. See Triggers. | Admin+ |
| Notification | Which system events send you an email or text, and the archive of past notifications. See Notifications. | Where enabled |
| Roll Up | Control the display of notifications rolled up from sub-accounts, with an archive. | Add-on; not Salesperson |
| Calendar | Sync ClientTether with Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar, and unsync when needed. See Calendars. | Everyone |
| Email (SMTP & IMAP) | Send and receive through your own mailbox instead of ClientTether’s: Gmail, Outlook via OAuth2, iCloud or a custom server, with optional calendar synchronisation. | Where enabled |
| Email Signature | The signature template appended to your outgoing email. | Everyone |
| Email Domain Registration | Register your own sending domain and verify its DNS records so email goes out under your name. | Enterprise account owners |
| Telephony | Phone numbers for calling and texting, plus the A2P brand and campaign registration that carriers require for business texting, and CNAM caller-ID registration. | Admin+ |
| Call Center | Settings for the Call Center suite when that add-on is on. | Add-on |
| Task Setting | Task titles and whether tasks show in the right-side panel. | Where tasks are enabled |
| Hosted Pages | Public pages (name, slug, content) that ClientTether hosts for you, reachable from messages through the hosted-page token. See Tokens. | Where enabled |
| Parser | Email parsers: read incoming lead emails, identify them, and create contacts with the right contact type, lead source, sales cycle and action plan. | Admin+ |
| Reputation Management | Review-request settings for the Reputation Management add-on. | Add-on; Admin+ |
5Proposals, jobs and payments
| Tab | What it controls | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Proposal | Bid types, categories and line-item costs by year, the bid-type tree and copy tools. See Proposal System. | Admin+, accounts with a proposal or quoting module |
| Jobs | Gross-margin limits (upper and lower) used by the Jobs board. | Everyone |
| TetherPay | Payment collection: API key and web payments token. | Add-on; Admin+ |
| TetherPay Gateways / TetherFluidPay | Additional payment gateway configuration where those add-ons are on. | Add-on; Admin+ |
6Developer and data
| Tab | What it controls | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| API | Your API access token and web key, partner access details, and whether a duplicate check runs when a contact is created through the API. | Admin+ |
| Webhook | Send contact data to an outside URL whenever a contact is saved: URL, method (POST/GET/PUT), payload style (Form Data or JSON), custom headers and payload fields, and conditions. | Admin+ |
| Webform Details | Opens the web form details page, where you get what you need to post leads from your own website forms. | Where enabled, unless locked by the Enterprise |
| AWS Quicksight BI | Which users can open the QuickSight business-intelligence dashboards. | Add-on |
Where do webhook calls go wrong?
Every webhook call is logged in the Webhook Monitor (user menu) with the URL, payload, headers and the response, and a note is added to the contact’s history. A failed call (HTTP 400 or above) also raises a webhook failed notification.

8Troubleshooting
A tab described here isn’t in my list
Either your user level doesn’t include it, the add-on isn’t enabled on the account, or your Enterprise account has locked it. Compare with an Admin user or ask your account owner.
I changed a setting and nothing happened
Each tab saves separately — make sure you pressed that tab’s Save or Update before moving on. Check Audit Logs to confirm the change was recorded.
The setting is greyed out or marked Locked
It’s controlled from the Enterprise account above yours. See Account Types in ClientTether.
